Hear from our running legends who are running one or more of the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon races. See the weekend schedule and hear some inspiring talks scheduled on Friday and Saturday. Also, stop by the Legends booth and chat with these great athletes. They will be happy to sign a race poster or pick up one of their books and have it signed!
Joan Benoit Samuelson won a gold medal in the first Olympic Women’s Marathon 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, blazing a trail for generations of runners. A true legend, she continues to shatter limits and inspire athletes worldwide!
Bill Rodgers has been running for 50 years and has not slowed down. He is best known for his four victories in the Boston Marathon and 4 straight wins in the New York City Marathon, between 1976 and 1979.
Marko Cheseto, born in Kenya, is an All-American athlete with an inspirational story of loss and courage. He set a world record in the 2019 Boston Marathon for a marathon by a double amputee.
A native of Detroit MI, he’s the founder of the Slow AF Run Club, an online community connecting tens of thousands of slow runners around the globe. He’s also the host of two podcasts – 300 Pounds & Running and The Long Run.
Jerry Faulkner is a native Oklahoman now living in New York City. Jerry won this Marathon in 2006 and won the Half Marathon twice. Today he serves as a Running Field Specialist for Adidas Running and was a Duathlon United States National Champion in 2021.
Camille Herron is an ultrarunner, scientist, coach, ambassador, public speaker, and model. She is known for running with her hair down, a big smile, and eating tacos to fuel ultramarathons. She is a four-time IAU International Ultrarunner of the Year and six-time USATF Ultrarunner of the Year.
Conor Holt serves as the lead coach and online endurance consultant for the ‘Run with Camille’ coaching website. Conor is a USATF Level 3 and IAAF Level 5 Endurance Certified Coach and is very fortunate to have worked with some of the best coaches in running and have learned the science and why/how of this magic sport.
Whit Raymond is a legendary voice in endurance sports, electrifying Ironman races, marathons, and triathlons worldwide since 1993. His boundless energy, deep knowledge, and engaging commentary make every event unforgettable. Whether at the finish line or behind the mic, Whit brings the thrill of competition to life!
Mark Bravo is a professional running coach and announcer. He is a great ambassador for the OKC Memorial Marathon and encourages every athlete who laces up their shoes and gets them ready to run!
