The Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon is one of the most fun and meaningful weekends in Oklahoma City. You have likely started to see the banners of the 168 who were killed around the course in Oklahoma City, The Village and Nichols Hills. This race is made more special because so many Oklahomans Show Up to Serve and help thousands who come to #OKC the experience of a lifetime. Runners see the #OklahomaStandard firsthand.
We have 12,000 runners registered to take to the streets of Oklahoma, representing 45 states, eight countries, and all 77 counties in Oklahoma! 57% of runners are women – 43% are men.
If you are not running and want to be involved – take a look at how you can play a key role in the race this weekend.
- Sign up to Volunteer | We need course marshals and Start Line volunteers.
- Find a spot to cheer on the runners | If you live on the race course get outside and cheer on the runners. Entertainment, music and cheer zones are something that runners love to talk about.
- Visit the Health & Fitness Expo | Come see the latest information about the race and visit dozens of vendors who offer goods and services promoting health and fitness.
- If you have a last-minute itch to participate, SIGN UP! | You can run the 5K on Saturday and the Marathon or Half Marathon on Sunday and be a part of the WHY WE RUN series.
Did you know that Oklahoma is the only state that has two marathons that run sections of the Marathon course on Route 66? Make the decision you want to run the okcMarathon and then Route 66 in Tulsa in November and qualify for the Oklahoma Standard medal!
Make the choice to bring someone to the Start Line at the Memorial or Finish Line Festival at Scissortail Park, and teach them this story and how it has impacted and changed our city forever.
It’s not too late to be a part of the 21st OKC Memorial Marathon. Show Up to Serve, Rise Up to Honor, and Step Up to be Kind. Join us as we continue to teach!
Let’s Marathon!
