Let's Marathon!

You’ve trained hard to get to this day. We’ve worked hard to make it meaningful. The marathon start is at 6:30am. Runner courtesy prevails – fast participants up front, slowest in the rear of the field.

Race Morning Corrals and Start Staging
All event participants
There will be 2 starting corrals race morning. The Robinson Corral will be for timed race participants in the marathon, half-marathon and marathon relay ONLY. The 6th Street Corral is for the 5K Memorial Walk which will open up to Robinson at 6:40 am after the Robinson Corral has cleared of timed race participants. Please allow yourself ample time to get to your respective starting corral. Note that you will not be able to enter either the timed event start corral or the 5K Memorial Walk corral from the south on Robinson. You should pre-plan your route. We recommend coming up from Harvey Avenue.

Marathon, Half Marathon, and Marathon Relay Participants
If you are in one of the timed events – your start corral will be on Robinson Street North of 6th Street. You must enter Robinson from north of 6th Street – there will be no access to Robinson from the South. You will only be able to enter Robinson from the west side on 7th or 8th Street. If you are east of Robinson you will be able to enter Robinson from 6th, 7th or 8th. Thank you for your cooperation.

5K Memorial Walk Participants – NEW START TIME 6:40am
Due to the overall growth of all the events the 5K Memorial Walk will be corralled in the NEW 6th Street Corral and then released into the Robinson Corral at 6:40 a.m. after the marathon, half-marathon and marathon relay timed event clears Robinson. If you are a 5K participant – you must be on the West side of Robinson on 6th street. Only timed runners in the marathon, half marathon and marathon relay will be allowed in Robinson Corral.

Parking:
There's lot's of street metered spaces in downtown Oklahoma City - all are FREE on Sunday. DO NOT park in any church parking lot! We've also made arrangements to use local parking garages. Click here for a map showing the best places to park.

Hotel Shuttles:
Shuttle buses stop at designated hotels along the Meridian corridor and Northwest Expressway race morning. (See list below) Buses also stop at all trolley stops on Meridian.

Runners will be dropped off at 3rd and E.K. Gaylord, 4 blocks from the start line. Shuttles back to the hotels run 9:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

The buses are provided as a courtesy. It is each runner’s responsibility to get to the starting line. No pets allowed (except service pets).

Gear Check:
You must use the clear drawstring bag you received at Packet Pick-Up for your Gear Check Bag. No other bags or containers will be accepted.

Marathon, Half Marathon, and 1st leg Marathon Relay runners may check their gear at the Gear Check tables on 6th St. between Robinson and Broadway.

If you are running succeeding legs of the Marathon Relay, check your clothing when you get to the exchange where you start running. Relay runners will be able to pick up checked clothing upon completion of the relay leg.

Clothing left on the course will NOT be retrieved by Marathon staff. If you leave something along the course, it is your responsibility. PLEASE do not leave valuables with your checked clothing.

5:30 a.m. - Sunrise Service (Gather around Survivor Tree)

5:30 a.m. - Free pancake breakfast at First Church

5:55 a.m. - Staging of runners:
Marathon, Half Marathon, Relay on Robinson
5K Memorial Walk on 6th west of Robinson

6:00 a.m. - Welcome & Introductions

6:15 a.m. - 168 Seconds of Silence

6:20 a.m. - National Anthem

6:25 a.m. - Marathon Wheelchair Start

6:30 a.m. - Marathon, Half Marathon, Relay Start

6:40 a.m. - 5K Walk Start
(6th Street Corral Opens to Robinson after Marathon start clears)

8:00 a.m. - Kid’s Warm Up with Olympic Champion Shannon Miller

8:15 a.m. - Kid's Marathon Start

8:30 a.m. - Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon Concert In Reunion Park
(4th and Broadway)

Kids' Marathon:
With close to 2,500 children running the final 1.2 miles of their marathon, it will be an amazing, fun-filled day! At 8:15 a.m. the Kids' Marathon will run on a special course that takes them through the streets of Oklahoma City on a closed course. There is a “safety-net” of people that run with the kids, ensuring safety at all times.

Here are a few announcements to help you and the children have a safe and enjoyable time:
1.    Please take a moment to fill out each child’s bib with race day contact phone number on the front and medical information on the back.
2.    The new Finish Line for the children will be the same as their starting line (Robinson between 5th and 6th streets.)
3.    The new Lost Child/Parent Zone is in the First United Methodist Church Parking lot across the street from the Kids’ finisher’s area.
4.    More than 75 OU athletes, OU students, and other volunteers wearing bright blue t-shirts serve as “Safety Net Runners”. Please instruct your child(ren) to find one of these volunteers if they are hurt or lost.
